>> you are watching wbal-tv 11. live, local, late breaking. this is 11 news at noon. >> good afternoon, everyone. baltimore's aging water systems brings yet another leak. officials are working to repair a water main break in the mount vernon section that broke during this morning's rush hour. we are live near the break with an update on the traffic, but first heading up to captain roy taylor. where is this break? >> this is right between east

madison. it is a little shopping center. he will speak -- he will speak waters fell rushing down from this location. -- you will see water still rushing down from this location. reporting live from sky team 11, captain roy taylor. blin liveing to rob rob wh on the ground. >> the streets around here have been closed down. if you can, avoid the area altogether. water is still coming from this water main that has broken here yen it is not coming in as fast. earlier a lot more was coming out because they turned off a number of valves. that is the process that officials have to do, turn off the valves, stop the water here in there.

that is the reason why less water is coming out. that should take some time. after that, they will be able to go down below and hopefully find the break and fix it. it is a 30 inch main, and it is a big break. >> this is a major break. it could affect several facilities. like i said, when we had the 60 inch, that was a distribution main, so very little of businesses were affected, but this is 30 inch and could have significant impact. that is why i said we need to do the assessment first. >> there are a number of businesses here. the jail right across from me and mercy hospital. one of the first calls came from mercy hospital to be told they had low water pressure. i've been told recently the water is fine. some people in and around the area have lost their water and

will lose it from sun -- for some time as they turn off the valves. it looks like the big facilities like the jail in mercy hospital are fine. -- and mercy hospital are fine. >> a man is in critical condition right now after he was shot in the head in north baltimore. city police responded just after 10:00 last night. that is when they found the victim lying in a heavily-wooded area near by. he was transported to an area hospital nearby for treatment. we're told homicide detectives are investigating. if you have information on the incident, called city police. baltimore county police are trying to figure out what sparked the weekend brawl outside a flea market that sent one person to the hospital and injured several others. it happened near the north point class of free-market. one man had to be taken to the

hospital after he was struck with the rubber mallet. we're told his injuries are not life-threatening. at this point officials do not believe it was pre-planned. >> the initial investigation has indicated there were two groups of people that resulted in an investigation. we cannot confirm the gang involvement at this point in time. to go to people were arrested, but no charges have been filed. -- >> two people were arrested, but no charges have been filed. baltimore city held the veterans day parade in a show of patriotism. we have more details. >> hundreds of people stepped off and a parade to support military members and the third annual veterans day parade. >> service and sacrifice to honor all veterans that fog and all wars in this country from the very first, the revolutionary war up to the current encounters we're having

other than the clouds. look at all the clouds moving get across the western part of the states. light sprinkle starting to break out in western maryland as well ahead of the cold front. this will cause big changes as we go to the next couple of days. we're going to say goodbye to the mild temperatures. the cold front sitting and west of the appalachians. a little bit of snow happening on the backside of this in indiana and western ohio. this is what will move our way into the next couple of days. first, a chance for rain. we take you through the evening. a couple of sprinkles may break out. nothing significant early on. then we go later into the night. and that is when we have the better chance for rain. after 9:00 around baltimore, showers could be possible and to that night. could be a bit of a messy commute rain-wise. early tomorrow bishop all clear

out into the afternoon. that takes us into the forecast tonight. temperatures will drop into the forties to low 50s. we will be mostly cloudy tonight with showers possible late after 9:00. that takes us to the seven-day forecast as the showers could wander into tomorrow morning. this may occur earlier in to the day. the colder air comes in behind the front. falling temperatures throughout the day tomorrow. 30's to start off the day. " it used to the end of the afternoon. sunshine will return to make things feel a little bit better. >> in today's medical alert, it seems the flu may be connected to autism. a steady fall of nearly 97,000 children between 1997 and 2003. they found kids whose mother had the flu or week-long fever while
